This book tells us the captain of this fleet was a Commander Ferdinand Megellon.He set sail from Spain about 500 years ago.Magellon did not finish the jouney-he was killed in the Philippines.At one stage,the ships sailed for 96 days without seeing land.The food supply ran out and the saliors had to eat sawdust, strips of leather and rats 91 times.
