Another Athletics Trophy

On Thursday 24th we took 3 teams of Y6 pupils to the Indoor Athletics Tournament at Harrow Way. We were split into teams and we took part in different events such as: triple jump, long jump, beanbag throw, javelin, sprints and relay type races.

For all these different activities listed, we worked with pupils from lots of other schools. There was a competition to see which school showed the most friendship and we are proud to say that Portway won!

Our Portway Blue team won the 'B' competition and the Pink team came second in the 'B' competition - a great achievement!

However in the 'A' competition, our other Portway team came first! This meant that we came first overall and won the Athletics Trophy!

It was a great afternoon and was lots of good fun. Thanks to Mrs Seymour for coaching us and taking us down there and thanks to Mr Deery for coming along too.
