Co-op Cooks

This week we have had an exciting assembly about the Cooperative – exciting because there was a cooking competition between Mr Ireland and Miss Nash-Steer. Like on the cooking programmes, they had to create a healthy breakfast in front of the whole school!

They made pancakes, weetabix and muesli and we had to vote which breakfast was the healthiest. Mr Ireland won because his bag contained skimmed milk and fat free yoghurt and Miss Nash-Steer’s had jam and sugar in it!

After assembly we all designed a breakfast for Tom Daley – the Olympic diver. We chose foods like carrot sticks, apples and watermelons. The most exciting part was making our own muesli! We made this from sunflower seeds, weetabix, apricots, raisins and oats – it looks very delicious! We have put our breakfasts in bags and we will be bringing them home tonight – no more Coco Pops for us!

We have had 100% of fun today, really enjoyed our morning – it’s been the best thing ever! Thank you to the Co-op for coming in and giving us with such a great opportunity.
