Football News - B Team (Year 5) League Report:

 Knights Enham 4 - Portway B 0

Recently the B side played their first league game against Knights Enham away. This year we have decided to make the B side just for year 5 pupils so they have a year playing together before moving to year 6. We always knew this would be a tough season and the first match confirmed it! The Knights Enham team played some good football and were worthy winners with some excellent goals from their Southampton Academy player. But the B side worked very hard and there were some real positives from the game. They kept passing the ball and everyone kept positive throughout the game. The last 10 minutes saw a period of real pressue by Portway and we were a little unlucky not to pick up a goal. Well done to everyone involved.

Team: Cameron Walker (Captain) , James McDermott, Tom West, Callum Hammett, Rhys Barrington-Evans, Jack Pitt, Jack Clark, Callum Dewhurst, William McHardy, Scott Ellis

Football News - A Team (Year 6) League Report:

Portway A 19 - Roman way 0
The A side played their first league game against Roman Way at home this week. This team is made up of all year 6 pupils and are looking forward to a strong season. The first match was against Roman Way and from early in the game it was clear it would be fairly one sided with goals coming thick and fast. The passing early on was particularly good although later on we lost our shape a little as the game was already won. To their credit Roman way kept battling and never let their heads drop, despite the one-sided nature of the game. A good start but there is a long way to go (including 2 big matches against Portway B!)

Team: Rhys Jones (Captain), Rhys Sullivan, Ross McMullen, Conor Cousins, Jake McGowan, Sam Griggs, Callum Cousins, Sam Clash, Sam Bickerton, Ben Mundy
