Football Update
This week we took a record number of teams to the local primary football tournament. No school has ever taken 5 teams and we are very proud of all involved.
In the end we got 4 teams to the semi-final stages of the 2 competitions and 2 teams in to the finals but they were beaten in very good games.
Below are some reports by each of the team captains. We would like thank Cathy Devereux and Lions in the Community coaches, Rhonda Sturges and her sport leaders from Harrow Way and the Sparsholt College Sport students for organising the whole day so well!
We would also like to thank Mr Dewhurst (Tia's dad) and Mr Mundy (Ben's dad) for helping out with the teams.
Portway Black played their best and tried their hardest all afternoon. We got quite tired nearer the end but we still kept our confidence up all through! Thank you to Simon our manager. We were unlucky and didn't get through to the semi-finals but it was so close! My man of the tournament is Jamie Riley. All our team played really well! Well done!!!
Team: Tia Dewhurst, Oliver Hunt, George Peacock, Jamie Riley, Oliver Lee, Joshua Wells, Gareth Major, Phoebe Clark

Portway Green On the 10th of March Jack Moffat led Portway Green to take on the best schools in Andover. We did well in the group as we finished 3rd. We then progressed through to the plate cup. We were drawn against Portway Black and we managed to win 1-0. Next we played Anton C in the semi-final and it was a good match but we lost. My player of the tournament was Toby Phillips as he defended really well!

We were in the final against Anton and lost 1-0 but it was a close game. My man of the team is Conor because he played very well and defended very well.

Portway Blue On March 10th 2011 Portway entered a football tournament at Harrow way Community School. Our Team Captain Mathew Clark led Portway Blue into the winners cup final! Unfortunately Portway Blue lost to three good goals scored by Anton A. My player of the tournament was Sam Clash as he scored an amazing over-head goal to put us into the final.
