Gardeners Go Wild
Year 3,4 & 5 G a r d e n i n g C l u b T r i p t o A r u n d e l
Recently the Gardening Club went on a trip to Arundel Wetlands Centre. The first activity was pond dipping for half the group and then we swapped around and watched a powerpoint and held bird bones and feathers. We liked the pond dipping the most because we caught three Rams Horn Snails and looked at them under a microscope. We had a card that told us the names of the animals in the pond. One team found a Diving Beetle Lava. In the talk we learnt that bird bones have bubbles in them like Maltesers! The weather was sunny and we had lunch in the adventure playground. After that we each had a bag of bird food to feed the interesting birds and we saw lots of ducklings on their nests with their parents. Madison found a nest with eggs in. We had a great day out and would like to thank Mrs Pridmore, Mr Cantillon and all the grown-ups for organising it!
