Joffre White visit

On Thursday 26th January we were very lucky to be visited by new author Joffre White. He has just published a book called 'Frog', which is based on his son, Christopher. Joffre told us that he used to make up imaginary tales for his son at bedtime and now he has put them all into one big book. He told us that when we write, we should always use our imaginations.

We did a few short activities with him: one of us got up and looked at a picture and had to describe the key points to the others in the year group, who had to guess what the object was. It was really surprising to see how wild our imaginations are!

Joffre was at Waterstones in Andover the following Saturday and some of us went down to buy his book and see him again. Our teachers at school have also bought each class a copy of 'Frog' and we are looking forward to reading it!

We would like to say thank you to Joffre for coming into see us and for giving us such a good time, and we'd like to thank the adults at school for organising the visit for us. We all enjoyed it.
