PORTWAY BUILDINGS

The school was built around 1950, with the Year 3 unit being added in the 1970s. The school building is spacious and attractive, and has been improved and updated over the years. We have an ICT suite with 32 computers, which was upgraded in July 2008, as well as the 'P-Pod' - a suite of 16 computers that are available for children to use as part of their learning activities, as well as for clubs and CAPS time.

We have a dedicated music room and a well stocked library. The school has two halls, one of which has a large stage that is used for performances and assemblies.
The latest addition to Portway Junior school is 'Tortuga'. This is a place where a small group of children participate in activities designed to foster excellent relationships and team building skills. This is organised and run by two highly qualified teaching assistants and is proving to be an extremely valuable resource.
