Portway Poetry Slam
This week has been the annual Portway Poetry Slam and once again it was a great success!
All children wrote proems around the theme of 'games' and performed them in class. Then each class chose their favourite and they had to perform in front of the whole school.
There was a team of judges (1 pupil from each class plus Mr Nice & Mr Ireland) who gave scores to each performance. It was a great event and everybody did very well indeed. There were a range of poems including ones about the olympics, playground games, noughts & crosses and even paintballing!
The finalists were:
3CL - William Budden (helped by Kittrina Gray), 3RM - Zachary Marshall (helped by Jessica Cooke), 3SNS - Ethan Mayes
4JP - Abigail Clark, 4SR - Rosie Kavanagh/Cassinini Pannell, 4KH - Lauren Clark
5AW - Joshua Wickenden (helped by Charlotte P, Rebecca T, Ami S, Emily R, Jason P), 5SF - Hannah Craggs, 5DI - Paige Bradbury (helped by Brandon Smith, Bryony Sinnot)
