Roadworks – January 2012
As most people will be aware from Christmas Eve the bridge on Weyhill Road will be closed to traffic for 4 months, although the pedestrian bridge will remain open. The main diversions will be around the ring road but it is likely there will be increased traffic on The Drove and Upper Drove, which are already very busy at the start and end of school. We would urge everyone who comes to school by car to think about the route they take to school and how this may be affected. Please remember that parking is allowed along East Portway Industrial Estate and then there is a path that leads from this road to Upper Drove (it comes out opposite Eardley Avenue.) It is very close to the new pedestrian entrance to the school at the bottom of the field. (There is a map on the Portway Press published 13/12/11) It takes less than 5 minutes to reach the school and has the added advantage that getting away is also very easy, especially with the bridge closing. Obviously this is not ideal for everyone but if it used by a few families then it would help the situation a little.
