Romans Invade Portway

For our History topic, group of Romans invaded Britain and taught Year 3 all about what life was like in Roman times.

Our day began with a fashion show so we could show off our fabulous costumes to our mums and dads who came to see them. We then learnt all about Roman medicine and ladies makeup from Madam Augustina.

We met another Roman soldier and learnt about the kit that they carried around with them and the weapons that were used in battle. The soldiers even brought a Roman tent with them which was set up in the hall for our lessons. Even our lunchtime gave us a taste of what food was like in Roman Britain! Our final task of the day was to learn to march as Roman soldiers.

All in all we had a fantastic day and enjoyed every single minute of it!
