The Real Thing by Tom Palmer

This book is about a boy called Tomasz who comes from Poland. He travels to England and plays for United. Then they go to a football tournament back in Poland. They get to the final and play Tomasz's absolute favourite team, Legia Warsaw. They lose two-one, but Tomasz nearly made an incredible save to deny them a penalty being scored, but the ball got past him! I really enjoyed this book because it wasn't too short and it was great fun to read. I could imagine myself being Tomasz. He must have felt very upset because the team captain, Ryan kept being mean to him. I'm not going to tell you what happens at the end. You'll have to find out!!! I would highly recommend it to 5-11 year olds and especially football lovers!!
