Athletic Champions!

Year 3 & 4 Indoor Athletics Event

Year 3 & 4 went to Harrow Way to take part in the annual Indoor Athletics tournament.  There were three teams from each year group with eight children in each team. 

Indoor athletics involves a series of activities including long jump, triple jump, throwing a ball, bean bag and javelin as well as  ordinary races and relay races at the end.  Points are scored for all of the events and  they are combined to get the final result.

The pupils were very well behaved and great ambassadors for our school. They showed great skill but also great sportsmanship! We are very proud of all the team members and we also need to say thank you ro Mrs Seymour for organising the event, Miss Nash-Steer for helping and to all the parents who helped to walk the children to the event.

Portway also managed to win both the Year 3 and the Year 4 event! Our winning teams came from 3CL and 4SR.
